My father fell asleep in five minutes, always, in his armchair, with the TV on. Once I asked him how he did it. He said he’d worked in a workshop for forty years and never cheated a customer, so he had nothing to turn over in his head. Then he closed his eyes and four minutes later he was snoring. My mother turned the volume down without saying a word.
